A festival featuring delicacies from across Vietnam began on Sunday night in Da Nang as part of its summer tourism season activities, attracting a large number of locals and tourists.

The event, devoted to Da Nang cuisine and beer space, is the highlight of the coastal city's summer festival activities.

Visitors to this festival will be able to taste all of the specialties of central Vietnam, such as mi Quang (Quang noodle soup), bun bo (spicy beef noodle soup), bun hen Hue (Hue baby mussel noodles), banh xeo Binh Dinh (Binh Dinh savory crepes), and more.

Aside from central Vietnam delicacies, tourists can enjoy other regional specialties such as hu tieu Sa Dec (Sa Dec stretchy rice noodle soup) and pho Thin Lo Duc, a dish from the namesake popular Hanoian pho restaurant.

According to Tan Van Duong, deputy director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, both domestic and international tourists have returned, allowing the tourism industry to begin to recover in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.

As a result, the Department of Tourism is concentrating on promoting the destination through international events and on-site promotional activities.

The culinary festival and beer space are held to diversify tourism products in the summer of 2022, thereby providing a new location for tourists and residents to visit and enjoy.

The food fest is scheduled to take place at Bien Dong Park from July 3 to 6, from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Under the guidance of chefs, tourists can participate in the preparation and consumption of some of Da Nang's most renowned dishes.

To improve the event's popularity, the organizers introduced the 'Enjoy Banh Xeo Da Nang' contest, encouraging both locals and visitors to join with the offer of prizes such travel service vouchers and souvenirs.

Pham Huu Thanh, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, expressed interest in the Da Nang food festival, saying that he had eaten a lot of delicious dishes here after only two hours from the start of the event.

"Tourist destinations in Da Nang are much more packed than in other places I've visited, and the atmosphere is likewise more hectic and entertaining," Thanh said.

“I believe that this city's tourism business will revive fast."
