Vietnam Airlines to offer promotional discounts this fall

Thursday, August 11, 2016, 15:43 GMT+7

The Vietnamese national carrier is set to launch two promotions this month to usher in autumn.

Vietnam Airlines has announced on its website that customers will be able to book tickets at rock-bottom prices and participate in special deals exclusively available this autumn, starting in mid-August.

The two promotional events’ booking periods stretch from August 15 to 28, while the travel period varies by booking, the website said.

Customers can purchase tickets at fabulous fares for many routes with ‘Golden Autumn 2016,’ including one way domestic services from VND299,000 (US$13.4) to VND799,000 ($35.84)  and round-trip international routes from $19 to other Southeast Asian nations, Vietnam Airlines said.

Discounted ticket fares will also be applied to other round-trip international flights to Northeast Asia, Europe, and Australia, the carrier added.

The posted prices do not include taxes and fees, and are dependent on each seat’s class, its website noted.

The ‘Vietnam Airlines Holidays’ promotion packages offer flyers the opportunity to book a combination round-trip flight ticket and three-star hotel or above from a list available in each package.

Total payment includes airfares, hotel accommodation charges, and tax, according to the flag carrier.

The promotional packages’ prices are based on a four-day-three-night journey for two people starting from VND2.756 million ($123.6) for domestic trips and VND5.565 million ($249.6) for international flights, the airline said, adding that a higher price may be applied, depending on flight and hotel availability.

The national carrier was certified as a 4-star airline by UK-based airline and airport rating organization Skytrax on July 12.

The airline placed purchase orders for some of the world’s most modern and environment-friendly planes, including Airbus A350-900 and Boeing B787 aircraft.

It also aims to reach a fleet of 150 modern aircraft by 2020, according to its website.
