Ana Marina, the first international standard marina in Vietnam, was put into operation on a trial basis on Wednesday in Nha Trang City, a beach destination in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa.

The 40ha marina sits on a coast alongside Pham Van Dong and Nguyen Co Thach Streets in Vinh Hoa Ward, Nha Trang City.

The facility features three main zones, with one offering marina services, one for infrastructure facilities, and the remainder for quays, pontoon bridges, a park, and others.

It was designed to house up to 220 yachts.

The Ana Marina will offer yacht services to vessels to and from a number of countries and territories such as Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, director of the provincial Department of Tourism, said the marina will make Nha Trang a new destination for luxury yachts and vessels.

The newly-launched marina will also host many tourism and sports events, especially international yacht races, Thanh added.
