The number of Vietnamese consumers showing interest in new iPhone 15 models on tech retailers’ websites and at their smartphone stores has surged though Apple’s new smartphone line is not yet available.

Many have rushed to contact Apple’s authorized retailers to get some information about iPhone 15 models.

Minh Tan, a 29-year-old resident of Ho Chi Minh City, said that he often pre-orders a new iPhone each year to timely own one after its debut.

This year, he plans to buy a premium iPhone version despite no information about its price and specifications.

“I do not care about new iPhone models’ features at all as I believe that the new lineup will bring some upgrades. I just want to hold one quickly to follow the trend,” he said.

Apple will organize a special event called ‘Wonderlust’ at the Steve Jobs Theater inside Apple Park, the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California at 10:00 am on September 12 (U.S. time), or at 12:00 am on September 13 (Vietnam time). The event is expected to debut new iPhone 15 and Smart Watch models.

Di Dong Viet, one of Apple’s authorized retailers in Vietnam, has received a vast array of comments, messages, and questions about the new iPhone 15 via its website since early August.

Phung Phuong, a representative from Di Dong Viet, said that Apple’s new products always draw interest from Vietnamese smartphone users.

Many consumers have visited another authorized retailer, 24hStore, to learn about the new iPhone 15.

“They [customers] have asked about the availability date of the iPhone 15 and prices,” said Anh Hong, a representative from 24hStore.

Nguyen The Kha, commercial manager at FPT Shop, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that the release of an iPhone lineup is always one of the biggest tech events in Vietnam each year as it falls in the peak season of shopping in the lead-up to the Lunar New Year holiday, or Tet.

“We expect the launch of the new iPhone 15 to help increase our sales for the rest of the year,” Kha said.

The iPhone 15 models will hit the shelves in Vietnam earlier than previous years, just two or three weeks after their release, pleasing Apple fans in the country, said Anh Hong from 24hStore.

“We hope that the new iPhone 15 will make the business market boom and bounce back amid the gloom of the economic slowdown,” said Phung Phuong from Di Dong Viet.

Kha from FPT Shop said that though Apple opened an online store in Vietnam in May, local retailers have their distinctive advantages.

FPT Shop and F.Studio, two subsidiaries of Vietnamese telecoms firm FPT Corp, operate over 800 outlets nationwide, enabling customers to experience new products, hold them on their hands, and get direct consumer consulting services, Kha said.

Besides, clients will not have to wait for the delivery.

Also, they can easily exchange their iPhone for a new one at stores within 30 days after their purchase date if their device encounter any error.
