An entrepreneur from South Korea has established Chus, an e-commerce platform to showcase Vietnamese handcrafts and specialties.
Injoon Song, the man behind the new e-commerce platform, said on Thursday that Chus currently features 6,000 Vietnamese products from over 500 brands.
The platform offers hand-made products, local Vietnamese specialties, and consumer goods with limited quantity to both domestic consumers and foreigners in Vietnam.
Specific products on the platform include black pepper produced by The Ho Tieu brand from Phu Quoc City off the coast of Kien Giang Province; skin and hair care products from Ri Mo in Dong Thap Province; Chai Bep coconut candy from southern Ben Tre Province; hand embroidered hairpins from fragile.house in central Quang Nam Province; lacquer jewelry from Dai Nghia - Hue in central Thua Thien - Hue Province; and SPICO’s traditional chili sauce from north-central Thanh Hoa Province.
Chus also allows consumers to directly connect with artisans to purchase handicrafts.
“During my four years of living and working in Vietnam, I have visited almost every locality, from the north to the south of Vietnam, and I have never stopped being surprised at local products and meticulous and special artworks of craftsmen.
“It would be a pity if they fall into oblivion or are limited to a small space.
“I believe they are gems, worthy of being known, used, and proud of by Vietnamese and foreigners loving Vietnam,” Song said.
