The Voice of Vietnam 2013, the second season of the Vietnamese version of the Dutch-origin reality singing contest, will broadcast its first episode of the Blind Audition Round, on VTV3 on May 19.
Kicked off with the qualifier round in March in big cities including Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, the show has attracted 15,000 participants across the country. 100 best contestants have been chosen for the Blind Audition Round.
This year’s contest will continue to see the participation of last year’s judge, singer Dam Vinh Hung. Famed singers My Linh, Hong Nhung and famous musician Quoc Trung will take over the positions of pop stars Ho Ngoc Ha, Thu Minh and well-known rocker Tran Lap on the last year’s jury.
Musician Phuong Uyen will stay as the show’s music director, though she was involved in a result-fixing scandal last season.
The Voice of Vietnam 2013 will also have a change in its format compared with last year’s show. There will be a Knockout Round inserted between the Blind Audition Round and the Battle Round before Live Show, the final round.
In 2012, 17-year-old Huong Tram became the first winner of the show in Vietnam after she beat the three other finalists.
