A circus show titled “Here, now and there” will be brought on stage by artists from French company Chabatz d'Entrar this month.

The show, to be presented by the French Institute in Vietnam will include object manipulation, acrobatics and live music – a creative product of French and Indonesian artists.

It took the artists 6 months to prepare for the program. Besides Vietnam, the show will also tour to several cities in Indonesia, East Timor before coming back to France.

Founded in 1997 in the Limousin, the company has always experimented with visual art forms where the body and movement are the starting point of the search for contemporary performing arts.

“Here, now and there” will be showcased at 8pm on June 20th, at Ben Thanh Theatre, 6 Mac Dinh Chi, District 1. Tickets cost from VND80,000 (US$3.85) to VND120,000 for general public and 50% discount for students.

In addition, the French Institute in Vietnam also presents a ballet show titled “The Rite of Spring” choreographed by Jean-Claude Gallotta 7 days later.

“The Rite of Spring” will be brought on stage to mark its 100th birthday as well as to honour its composer Igor Stravinsky. The show gathering 13 dancers will be preceded by two short works “Tumulte” and “Pour Igor.”

Jean-Claude Gallotta has been inspired by Russian composer Igor Stravinsky’s works since he was a schoolboy.

“The Rite of Spring” will take place at 8pm on June 27, also at Ben Thanh Theatre. It is part of activities to celebrate the France – Vietnam Year.

Tickets cost from VND80,000 (US$3.85) to VND120,000 for the general public and 50% discount for students.
