Thousands of visitors gathered for the opening of a Tet flower street in Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Province, south-central Vietnam on Sunday night, with highlights including illuminated snake mascots in celebration of the Year of the Snake.

Stretching 250 meters across a 4,000-square-meter area, Tuy Hoa’s 2025 Tet Flower Street features 70,000 flower baskets from 100 different species.

The vibrant exhibit includes six grand displays, various smaller setups, and two eye-catching entrance installations.

Constructed with 60 metric tons of steel and eco-friendly materials like bamboo and rattan, the street is illuminated with 20,000 meters of LED lights and over 400 spotlights, creating a breathtaking nighttime display, according to the city’s administration.

The cobra mascot is surrounded by replicas of the Nghinh Phong Tower, a symbol of Tuy Hoa’s tourism appeal.

Nguyen Cong Thanh, vice-chairman of the Tuy Hoa People’s Committee, revealed that the VND3.9-billion (US$159,000) flower street project was jointly funded by the city and community contributions.

The golden cobra mascot at the Dien Bien Phu gate stands 10.8 meters tall and 135 meters long, while each of the snake mascots at the Hung Vuong gate measures 12.3 meters tall and 38 meters long.

“This year’s flower street is incredibly vibrant," said Do Kieu Oanh, a Tuy Hoa resident.

“The golden cobra mascot at the entrance, adorned with countless LED lights, is truly mesmerizing.

“It’s the perfect backdrop for Tet photos.”
