Singer to judge local version of ‘Got to dance’

Singer to judge local version of ‘Got to dance’

Celebrated pop singer-model Ho Ngoc Ha will be on the jury of the Vietnamese version of UK dancing reality show “Got to dance” from the battle round in its first season.

Ha, who is popular for her “trendy” singing voice and fiery dances, will replace pop singer Minh Hang, winner of the 2012 local version of “Dancing with the stars”, to be the new judge on the show.

The show’s other three judges include local choreographers Tran Ly Ly and Dumbo and Cuban dancer-choreographer Alfredo Torres, a finalist at the 2007 World Salsa Championship and winners of several international dancing competitions. He was also on the jury of the third season of Bulgaria’s “Dancing with the stars”.

Out of the 50 performances from the auditions, 28 ones have been selected to enter the battle round, which will be aired live on VTV3 at 9PM every Saturday starting tonight, Oct 5.

Compared to the local version of “So you think you can dance”, which is in its second season now, the Vietnamese version of “Got to dance” is considered more entertaining and popular but less appealing due to its technical and directing quality.

“Got to Dance”, originally titled “Just Dance”, is a reality talent show dance competition which has been broadcast on Sky1 in the UK and Ireland since December 2009.

After its four seasons, the show has enjoyed the highest ratings and remains among the Top 5 view list on Sky1. Its format has been produced in several countries including the US, Australia and New Zealand.
