A number of young animal-loving couples in Vietnam have recently taken to the emerging trend of capturing bridal photos with their pets or other animals to highlight their love for them and add richness to their special pictures.

Earlier this month, a young couple, Vi Thao Nguyen and Nguyen Chi Hieu, in Ho Chi Minh City posted their collection of bridal photos on Nguyen’s Facebook.

The couple was not alone in the photos. Nguyen’s pet dogs and cats, which she rescued and has been taking care of, were also the “stars.”

The photos have drawn some 3,500 likes. Several youths commented that they were greatly inspired by Nguyen’s collection, which was created in preparation for their upcoming wedding.

An editor at a HCMC publisher, the 31-year-old bride is also active in animal rescue and care.

She co-founded the Yeu Dong Vat (Animal Love) organization, which is dedicated to rescuing and tending to deserted, abused animals.

“We wanted our bridal photos to capture the everyday moments we often spend with our loved pets. We’re glad that netizens love the pictures,” Nguyen shared.

A number of other young couples, particularly those who have found their love for each other through a mutual interest in animals, have also taken their bridal photos, both outdoors and indoors, with their beloved pets.

“My husband and I really love cats, so we decided to take our bridal photos with our five cats. It was quite a tiring but fun shoot, as the kitties kept running around,” said My Thuong, another young bride.

Several other couples who cannot afford to have their pets at home also choose to take their lifetime photos with their friends’ or relatives’ animals.

The “animal stars” are not limited to dogs and cats. Hamsters, ornamental fish, birds, and chickens can also make the photos gorgeous.

Some also pose with sheep, horses, and cows which are raised at the venues chosen for their bridal photo shoots.

To bring out the best of the animals in the outdoor photos, one should make sure that they are always in a relaxed, calm state of mind and are not vexed by or exhausted from posing, Nguyen, with the Yeu Dong Vat (Animal Love) organization, advised.

Due attention should also be paid to the animals’ security to keep them from running astray or being snatched away by thieves.
