Vietnamese pop singer Thu Minh will attend the official launch of the “United for Wildlife” program on June 9 in London at the invitation of the Royal Foundation.
The “United for Wildlife” project created by the Royal Foundation is the collaboration of the world's seven leading wildlife charity organizations, namely the Conservation International; the Fauna&Flora International; the International Union for Conservation of Nature; the Nature Conservancy; the Wildlife Conservation Society; the WWF-UK; and the Zoological Society of London.
The project aims to create a long-term and sustainable commitment to solve global challenges which are threatening the world's natural environment, as well as to tackle the wildlife species illegal trade issue.
The launching ceremony is planned to be hosted by Prince William, Prince Harry and members of the Royal Family, and will see the participation of celebrities including tennis player Andy Murray and rugby player Francois Piennaar.
Minh is the only Vietnamese celebrity and one among several Asian stars invited to attend the ceremony at the Google Town Hall in London.
In April, she joined with singer Thanh Bui to come to South Africa to watch rhinos in the wilderness and speak out against the rampant poaching of the animal and use of its horn. She then has also actively participated in projects to protect rhinos in Vietnam.
“As an ambassador of the rhinos protection program, I hope that my presence at this big event, together with international friends, will contribute to raise Vietnamese people’s awareness on protecting rhinos in particular and wild animals in general,” Minh shared.
