The official schedules for the ceremonies paying tribute to the late General Vo Nguyen Giap in Hanoi, HCMC, and Quang Binh on Saturday has been announced.
Accordingly, the ceremony will begin on 7:30 am, and will last to 9:00 pm on the same day at the National Morgue at No. 5, Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi.
The morning session, which will last to 12:00 am, will be set aside for delegations from state agencies and organizations.
They include the Communist Party’s Central Committee, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Public Security.
Delegations from international diplomatic missions and organizations will also be scheduled for the morning session.
The afternoon and evening session will be available for state agencies and organizations which miss the morning session and individuals.
The same schedule and order will be applied for the event in the central province of Quang Binh and Ho Chi Minh City at the building of the municipal People's Committee and Reunification Hall in HCMC, respectively.
The State Funeral Committee has also set up a division to receive information related to funeral and provide the information offered by the committee at No. 51B , Phan Dinh Phung Street, Ba Dinh District with the hotline at (069) 552 574 .

Preparatory work underway
Quang Binh province authorities, with the support of the Ministry of Defense, are clearing an area in Vung Chua – Dao Yen (Swallow Island) where General Vo Nguyen Giap will be buried.
Provincial police forces have started to ensure the absolute safety of the area since Tuesday.
According to the plan prepared by the provincial authorities, the family of the General will provide a portrait of him for the burial ceremony. Other necessary thing for the rituals and the ceremony, including flower, fruit, funeral wreaths, and the military band of Military Region 4 and the guards for the event, have also been prepared.
The memorial service will be broadcasted live on the screens at the National Morgue in Hanoi.
Currently, Truong Thinh Group from Dong Hoi City is working on a 4-kilometer road connecting the National Highway No.1 to the burial site in Vung Chua. The 7-meter wide road is scheduled to be completed before the burial ceremony on Saturday.
The municipal Department of Transport has also been assigned to complete the repair all of the damages on a session of the National Highway No.1 leading to the site from Dong Hoi to the Hon La in Quang Dong Commune, Quang Trach District.
Forces from the local youth organizations in Dong Hoi City and the districts of Quang Trach and Bo Trach are tasked to maintain order on the route and on the session on National Highway No.1.
