Vietnam has extended an invitation to the defense ministries of China, Laos, and Cambodia to send military personnel to participate in the country’s Reunification Day parade on April 30.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of Defense, discussed the invitations during a meeting with military attachés from China, Laos, and Cambodia on Tuesday morning.
Chien stated that the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense will soon send official invitations to the defense ministries of China, Laos, and Cambodia, welcoming them to send military contingents to participate in the parade and march during the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s reunification.
Vietnam is actively preparing for the event, which is a significant political milestone for the country and a celebration shared with international friends who have supported its revolutionary cause.
The country remains deeply grateful for the immense assistance, especially from China, Laos, and Cambodia.
The deputy minister emphasized that Vietnam’s Ministry of Defense looks forward to the participation of the three neighboring countries, believing their involvement will contribute significantly to the success of the anniversary celebrations and demonstrate the strong solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and its neighbors.
Defense cooperation between Vietnam, China, Laos, and Cambodia has been continuously strengthened in recent years, particularly in areas such as delegation exchanges, training, military cooperation, and border defense diplomacy.
Military attachés from the three countries noted that they would promptly report to their respective governments and consult with domestic authorities to advance the activities outlined by Senior Lieutenant General Chien.
The military parade and march to mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s reunification are expected to involve over 13,000 participants and will take place in Ho Chi Minh City at 8:00 am on April 30.
The parade will include 35 contingents coordinated by the Ministries of Defense and Public Security, while the march will be organized by Ho Chi Minh City.
On March 25, Vietnam's Minister of Defense General Phan Van Giang oversaw a rehearsal involving over 5,200 personnel from across the country in preparation for the parade and march.
During the rehearsal, General Giang mentioned that several countries that had supported Vietnam during the war against the United States had also expressed interest in joining the parade alongside the Vietnamese People’s Army.
