Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel spent the first day of his official visit to Vietnam, scheduled to last from Wednesday to Friday, touring the capital city of Hanoi.
PM Bettel and a high-ranking delegation from Luxembourg strolled through the Old Quarter in Hanoi and explored other popular landmarks in the Vietnamese capital city.
Upon his arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on Wednesday, PM Bettel and his entourage embarked on a tour to Quang Ninh Province and Hai Phong City.
PM Bettel and the Luxembourg delegation also visited Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO-listed world natural heritage site in Quang Ninh, as well as a manufacturing plant operated by Vietnamese automaker VinFast in Hai Phong, where they were briefed on the firm’s business strategies and operations and test-drove VinFast electric cars.

On Thursday, PM Bettel is slated to participate in an official welcome ceremony and hold talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi.
The two Cabinet leaders will witness the signing of several cooperation deals and meet with the press.
PM Bettel will also lay wreaths and pay tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum.
The two PMs will visit Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy) and the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum.
Bettel is also scheduled to meet with Vietnam’s lawmaking National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
Afterward, Bettel will travel to Ho Chi Minh City where he will meet with the city’s officials and attend a number of events and activities.
