A delegation of Vietnamese officials visited and presented gifts to war veterans and families with revolutionary contributions in south-central Phu Yen Province on Monday, ahead of the province’s 50th liberation anniversary (April 1, 1975-2025) and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and Reunification Day (April 30, 1975-2025).
Phan Dinh Trac, Politburo member, secretary of the Party Central Committee, and chairman of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Internal Affairs, led the visit alongside local officials of Phu Yen.
The delegation visited Colonel Tran Van Muoi, former commander of the Phu Yen Provincial Military Command, a key figure in the historic Route 5 Campaign, which helped liberate the province in 1975.
During the visit, Colonel Muoi recounted the arduous battles fought for the liberation of his homeland, prompting Trac to express deep gratitude for the contributions of past generations.
Trac emphasized that the bravery and selflessness of revolutionary generations had created legends and heroic feats that left a lasting mark on history.

The delegation also visited Heroic Vietnamese Mother Do Thi Phuong, a 95-year-old resident in Tuy Hoa City who lost both her husband and son during the Vietnamese resistance war against the U.S..
Trac inquired about her health and that of her family, affirming the Vietnamese Party and state's recognition of the immense contributions of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and families of war veterans.

He encouraged witnesses to history, including war veterans and Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, to continue passing on the spirit of patriotism and revolutionary zeal to future generations, inspiring national pride and unity as the country pursues innovation, integration, and development.
He also urged local authorities to improve policies supporting war veterans and families with meritorious service, emphasizing the need for sustained care and meaningful gratitude activities.
