Northern and central Vietnam will have hot weather today night and tomorrow due to a low pressure in the west expanding towards the east together with hot and dry wind in the areas.

On Friday, the heat will expand to a large extent, covering the northwest, the north and the middle of the central region, with the temperature ranging from 35 to over 39 degrees Celsius, according to the Central Hydrometeorology Center.

At 1:00pm on April 2, the temperature ranges from 35 to over 37 degrees Celsius in Muong La District of the northern Son La Province, Hoa Binh City in the northern Hoa Binh Province, Tuong Duong District in the central Nghe An Province, Huong Khe District in the central Ha Tinh Province, and Dong Ha City in the northern Quang Tri Province.

On April 1, the northern gulf had strong winds of the seventh level, blowing 50-61kph, and rough seas.

It is forecast that the strong winds will remain in the waters of the gulf today night and tomorrow, with sea waves from 1.75m to 2.75m high.

In a relevant note, typhoon Maysak is now on the sea waters in the east of the Philippines, around 1,300km east-southeast of Luzon islands at 1:00pm Thursday.

Within 24 hours, it is forecast to move at the direction of west-northwest at the speed of 20kph.

It may enter the East Vietnam Sea in the afternoon of April 5 and abate itself to a tropical low pressure.
