A British family traveling through Vietnam had their property returned after accidentally leaving it in their compartment after a journey earlier this week.
The belongings were discovered after the family left a suitcase in a berth cabin after exiting the train in Nha Trang, a popular beach city in the south-central Vietnamese province of Khanh Hoa, on Tuesday morning.
Members of the crew on train SE7 spotted a pink suitcase in compartment No. 12 in the berth cabin while cleaning the room.
The crew then opened the suitcase, witnessed by other passengers, to check the objects inside the luggage, before making a report to the train captain.
Items in the suitcase included a Samsung smartphone, a Nokia phone, an iPhone 4, an iPhone 7, an iPad, a tablet, a Cazabella watch and bracelet, a Harrods handbag, two sealed envelopes, US$170, GBP1,800, and THB2,000, and two ATM cards.
According to Dang Ngoc Quat, captain of the train, after reviewing the train’s manifest, the crew identified Gillion Lesky Dicorato and his family, from the United Kingdom, as owners of the property.
The group had been traveling from the central city of Da Nang to Nha Trang earlier that day.
The assets were returned to their owners on Wednesday morning, Quat continued.
