-- Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received the Vietnamese U23 football team and awarded them the first-class Labor Order, a state award conferred on individuals or collectives with outstanding achievements, on Sunday for their second-place spot at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, which wrapped up in China a day earlier.

-- Police in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong arrested Tran Quoc Vu, a 31-year-old suspect who had been on the run since January 23 after allegedly murdering his creditor and dumping his body.

-- The annual Ho Chi Minh City Boat Rowing Race took place on the Nhieu Loc – Thi Nghe Canal on Sunday, attracting 400 rowers in 14 teams, with the organizers expressing hope that the event will help raise environmental protection awareness.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport is applying a modern pavement patching and road surface profiling technology called Microsurfacing - Macro Seal, which can cut the repair work time by a third, on the National Highway No. 1 part running through the outer district of Binh Chanh.

-- Many Ponzi schemes, fraudulent investment operations where the operators generate returns for older investors through revenue paid by new investors, are operating in Vietnam under the guise of cryptocurrency such as Bitconnect, Pham Minh Tuan, deputy general manager of Bamboo Capitalm told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on the sidelines of the maiden 2018 Blockchain Conference in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday.


-- Preparations for the 2018 Nguyen Hue Flower Street, an annual event to usher in the Lunar New Year, or Tet in Vietnamese, in Ho Chi Minh City have entered the last phase, ready for the scheduled opening on February 13.
