-- Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc left Hanoi late on Friday night for Papua New Guinea to attend the 26th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting on November 17-18 at the invitation of Papua New Guinea’s Prime Minister Peter O’Neill. He departed shortly after watching Vietnam defeating Malaysia 2-0 in their second Group A game at the ongoing 2018 AFF Championship at the My Dinh National Stadium.

-- A 45-year-old man poured gasoline around his house, with his wife and two children locked inside, in the southern province of Binh Duong, following a quarrel with the woman on Friday night. The wife was rescued at 10:30pm the same day, as law enforcement officers still tried to take the children to safety.

-- A man has gone missing since November 7, after he and his friend suffered from a motorbike accident on the National Highway 50 in Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City. Footage from a CCTV nearby shows that a pair of unidentified man and woman approached the scene on a motorbike, talking and then carrying him away, leaving his friend behind.
-- Hanoi police discovered more than 200kg of illegal firecrackers transported in a taxi from the northern province of Lang Son to the Vietnamese capital for consumption on Friday.
