-- North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrived at Dong Dang Railway Station in the northern Vietnamese province of Lang Son on Tuesday morning, and left shortly for Hanoi by car.

-- Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, along with a high-level delegation, arrived in Phnom Penh on Monday afternoon to begin a two-day state visit to Cambodia at the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni.

-- Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan hosted a reception for Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday, during which they discussed measures to boost cooperation between the southern Vietnamese metropolis and Russian localities.

-- Vietnam is willing to provide the best conditions for the second North Korea-U.S. Summit scheduled to take place in Hanoi on February 27 and 28, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung said while co-chairing an international press conference on Monday.

-- Temperatures in northern Vietnam are forecast to start rising on Tuesday, as a cold spell, which has brought rain and cold weather to the region in the past days, has dissipated, according to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

-- Police in the central city of Da Nang on Monday arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly murdering his eight-year-old daughter and dumping her body into the Han River. Preliminary information showed that the incident arose from the conflict between the suspect and his ex-wife.

-- Officers in the southern province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau on Monday apprehended four suspects, aged 19 to 32, for illegally storing and trading drugs following a raid on a karaoke parlor.

-- A dead whale, measuring 16 meters long and weighing about 25 metric tons, was discovered floating in waters off the Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau on Monday.

-- One person was killed in an accident that involved three trailer tractors along an expressway connecting Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang on early Tuesday morning.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on Monday requested competent authorities to take certain measures to manage pork supply sources in the metropolis and prevent an outbreak of African swine fever, which was previously recorded in several provinces in northern Vietnam.

-- Ride-hailing app Grab has announced that it will reduce its per kilometer rate, but will also add a new type of fare, which is charged for every minute of the total time of the journey.
