A total of 31 Vietnamese and foreigners have been caught using drugs by the swimming pool inside a rented villa in Vung Tau, a popular beach city in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Officers from the municipal Department of Police carried out a raid on a villa in Ward 1 at around 11:30 pm on Friday.

Thirteen men and 18 women were showing signs of being high on drugs by the swimming pool inside the venue and were escorted to the police station.

Among them, eight men, including a Vietnamese and seven Australian and Malaysian nationals, and seven women tested positive for drugs.

Officers also confiscated seven green pills and 14 blue tablets which were alleged synthetic drugs, along with three plastic bags containing a type of white crystal.

Further investigation is ongoing.
