-- Police in Binh Chanh District in Ho Chi Minh City said on Wednesday they have busted a gang of 13 young robbers, led by a 15-year-old boy, which committed a total of 17 robberies in the district and its neighborhoods.

-- The Southern Airports Authority has imposed a VND8.5 million (US$365.5) administrative fine on a 29-year-old man from the central city of Da Nang for stealing a bracelet of a female passenger at the security gate of Da Nang International Airport on September 16.

-- The Vietnamese Ministry of Transport has tasked relevant agencies of the Mekong Delta province of An Giang with carrying out reconstruction of a two-kilometer eroded section of the National Highway No.91 passing through Chau Phu District with a total budget of over VND160 billion ($6.88 million).

-- The EU, Japan, the U.S., China, South Korea, Canada, Australia, and Taiwan make the top eight importers of Vietnamese shrimp in the first eight months of 2019, director of the Directorate of Fisheries Tran Dinh Luan said on Wednesday.

-- Vietnamese entrepreneur Le Diep Kieu Trang, who is known for her prominent job experiences as co-founder of fitness tracker company Misfit Wearables, and Facebook country director for Vietnam, will step down as CEO of ride-hailing firm Go-Viet, only five months after taking the position, company confirmed Wednesday.

-- Vietnam surpassed other Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore to rank eighth on the list of The best Countries to Invest in 2019 announced by U.S. News and World Report magazine.

-- Five Vietnamese e-commerce platforms, namely Tiki, Sendo, Thegioididong, Dienmayxanh and FPT Shop, were named among ten most visited sites in Southeast Asia in the first half of this year, according to a latest report released by the meta-search website iPrice.

-- Two amateur Vietnamese athletes, including one doctor and one office worker, have qualified for Boston Marathon – one of six World Marathon Majors – taking place in the namesake U.S. city in April 2020.

-- Vietnam’s No.1 chess player Le Quang Liem beat defending European champion Vladislav Artemiev of Russia 3.5 – 2.5 on aggregate at the FIDE World Cup’s third round in Russia on Wednesday night.

-- Vietnam thrashed Mongolia 7-0 in their third match at the qualifying round for the 2020 AFC (Asian Football Confederation) U16 Championship in Hanoi on Wednesday night.
