-- Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met bilaterally with Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babis, President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, and President of Albania Ilir Meta in Tokyo on Tuesday after attending the enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito.

-- General Luong Cuong, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, on Tuesday hosted a reception for visiting Russian Deputy Defense Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen. Andrey Kartapolov, who is heading a high-ranking military delegation on an official trip to Vietnam from October 21 to 24 as part of the Vietnam Year in Russia and Russia Year in Vietnam.

-- The 14th National Assembly discussed the draft for Vietnam’s amended securities law during a plenary sitting on Tuesday, the second working day of the tenure’s 8th session.

-- The Criminal Investigation Agency under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense on Tuesday launched criminal proceedings against Nguyen Van Hien, former deputy defense minister and former commander of the Vietnam’s People’s Navy, for “lack of responsibility, causing serious consequences” related to the management and use of land for national defense.

-- PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed SoftBank, the largest financial services group of Japan, to expand investment in Vietnam during a reception for SoftBank Group Corp’s Chairman and CEO Masayoshi Son in Tokyo on Tuesday after attending the enthronement ceremony of Emperor Naruhito.

-- The Vietnam Industry White Paper 2019 was released on Tuesday by the Industry Agency under the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the UN Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO).

--  National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines welcomed the 100th aircraft to its fleet at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on Tuesday. The plane is the third of eight Boeing 787-10s Vietnam Airlines has placed an order for between August 2019 and March 2021.

-- A ceremony was held in Hanoi on Tuesday to announce the export of Vietnam’s first batch of dairy products to China under a protocol signed between the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the General Administration of Customs of China on April 26, 2019.

-- Vietnamese and Japanese firms shared cooperation experience in new technologies during the Japan ICT Day 2019 that opened in the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang on Tuesday.

-- A technology and equipment fair and a fest for innovative startups in the Mekong Delta (Techmart-Techfest Mekong 2019) opened in Can Tho City on Tuesday, bringing together hundreds of institutes, schools, organizations and businesses who introduced their research projects, focusing on food and seafood processing.
