-- The Ground Control Unit at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City has been divided into two sub-zones from Thursday morning to improve its flight control capacity and safety, according to Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation.

-- A police captain in Da Lat, the capital city of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, illegally occupied nearly 1,900 square meters of forest land in the heart of the famous tourist city to build a restaurant.

-- Border guards of the north-central province of Quang Tri on Wednesday coordinated with Lao forces to arrest three men, seizing 30,000 meth pills the suspects were trafficking from Laos into Vietnam, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

-- The Market Surveillance Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with its unit in Ho Chi Minh City, seized nearly 2,600 items suspected to be smuggled, counterfeit, or copy-cat products of high-end brands at Ben Thanh Market and Saigon Square Shopping Center in District 1 on Wednesday.

-- Vietnam’s export turnover in January-October increased 7.4 percent year-on-year to over US$217 billion, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
