A 23-year-old man and his companion were fined for multiple violations of regulations on traffic safety on Wednesday after a video which captured the two men showering themselves with water from a bucket while riding a motorbike in the southern province of Binh Duong went viral on the Internet.

Traffic police in Binh Duong’s Dau Tieng District said on Wednesday that they had summoned Huynh Thanh Khanh, residing in Long Hoa Commune, for his involvement in the video.

The viral clip recorded two shirtless men taking an ‘on-the-go' shower while they were riding a motorbike without wearing crash helmets.

In the video, the two men appeared to have their heads covered with lather before a man sitting in the back seat started pouring water from a bucket onto the other man who was steering the vehicle.

They carried a box of beer cans on the vehicle’s center luggage rack while the water bucket was placed between the two men.

The driver was heard saying he was on a rush to a drink party.

The video was captioned “When your friends rush you for a drink” and was shared more than 45,000 times after it was uploaded on social networks.

Based on the license plate number of the motorbike in the video, police were able to track down the two men in question.

Accordingly, Huynh Thanh Khanh, 23, was determined as the driver.

Both Khanh and his companion were fined a total of VND1.8 million (US$77.76) for driving without a driver’s license, riding and boarding a motorbike without wearing crash helmets, riding a motorbike without rear-view mirrors, and driving without a civil insurance certificate.

In addition, the person who lent Khanh the motorbike was also fined VND1.4 million ($60.48) for lending the vehicle to an unqualified driver.
