-- The Government Inspectorate of Vietnam and the Russian Presidential Anti-Corruption Directorate upgraded their memorandum of understanding on anti-corruption cooperation in Hanoi on Monday.

-- A 73-year-old Vietnamese American who was the 7th confirmed novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patient in Vietnam has tested negative for the virus multiple times after receiving treatment at Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City since January 31. Doctors will carry out more tests to make sure he has completely recovered from the disease before releasing him from the hospital.

-- Authorities in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa and the north-central province of Thanh Hoa, each reporting one case of COVID-19 infection so far, are expected to soon announce the end of the COVID-19 epidemic in their respective provinces after no new cases have been confirmed in the past 30 and 23 days, respectively.

-- An unseasonal rain dampened many localities in southern Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City, on Monday evening, which helped alleviate the hot and dry weather that has been affecting the region over the past days.

-- The People’s Committee in the north-central province of Nghe An has ordered competent authorities to relocate all residents living near the province’s largest waste treatment plant before the end of March.

-- The management center for public transport in Ho Chi Minh City has ordered the suspension of a driver of bus route No.14 after several passengers reported being assaulted by him on Friday last week.

-- Over 73,400 people have been infected with the novel coronavirus and 1,873 killed globally as of Tuesday morning, according to the South China Morning Post.
