Driver killed in minibus-truck head-on collision in Vietnam
A minibus and a truck are severely damaged after a head-on crash in this photo taken in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam.

The driver of a 16-seater minibus was killed as his vehicle collided head-on with a truck in the southern Vietnamese province of Dong Nai on Monday.

The victim was identified as 26-year-old Nguyen H. from the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau.

The accident happened at around 6:00 am on Monday, according to police investigation.

At the time, H. was driving a 16-seater minibus, departing from Ba Ria – Vung Tau for Dong Nai on Provincial Road No. 765.

While passing through Cam My District of Dong Nai Province, the vehicle allegedly crossed traffic lanes and crashed into a truck traveling in the opposite direction.

The truck was driven by 43-year-old Nguyen Ngoc Th. from Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province.

The two vehicles were severely damaged with their cabins disfigured after the collision.

H. did not survive the crash, while Th. was rescued and hospitalized by nearby residents after being found in a critical condition.

Footage of the crash taken from security cameras revealed that Th. was driving his truck in the correct lane and at proper speed.

Traffic police of Cam My District showed up at the scene and are working to further investigate the accident.
