— Vietnam reported no new COVID-19 case on Thursday morning, marking the country’s tally at 2,603 with 2,359 recoveries, according to the Ministry of Health.

— Hanoi police on Wednesday said they had successfully broken up a drug dealing ring run by a man with mental illness who allegedly made transactions right at the National Psychiatric Hospital No. 1, where he was receiving treatment.

— Vietnamese Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long on Wednesday had a working session with the Chinese and Indian ambassadors as well as the Minister Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Vietnam in an effort to find more COVID-19 vaccines for the Southeast Asian country.

— Local authorities in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang on Wednesday said they had detained Tran Thi Tuyet for an investigation into a case in which she allegedly faked her own funeral to cheat creditors.

— Police in Hanoi’s Cau Giay District on Wednesday said they had prosecuted Nguyen Bao Tuan, 20, from the north-central province of Quang Tri, after he allegedly demanded VND15 million (US$650) from his 'sugar baby'; otherwise, he would release photos from their sex tape.

— The Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has decided to offer a 50 percent discount on train tickets in April and May for children aged six to 10, starting from Thursday.

— Customs officers at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City have intercepted six cases of illegal drug transportation by air, seizing a total of 12.7kg of drugs of all kinds in the past two weeks.

— Total new and additional investment capital in Ho Chi Minh City’s industrial and processing zones reached $224.61 million in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 66.34 percent year-on-year and representing 40.84 percent of the annual plan, the Vietnam News Agency reported on Wednesday.

Lifestyle

— Hanoi suggested organizing a Hanoi Cultural Day in St. Petersburg and a St. Petersburg Cultural Day in Hanoi during an online meeting between the Vietnamese capital's Department of External Affairs and the Russian city's Committee for External Relations to discuss ways to enhance cooperation on Wednesday, the Vietnam News Agency reported the same day.
