Family members of a teen boy found him dead in the kitchen after he was scolded in Dak Lak Province of Vietnam’s Central Highlands region, with functional forces later obtaining a letter suspected to be his suicide note, local police said on Friday.

Police in Buon Ho Town, Dak Lak Province are investigating the cause of the death of B.D.K., an eighth grader of Ngo May Middle School.

K.’s mother scolded and gave him a slap for playing mobile games in his free time on Wednesday morning, according to the educational division of Buon Ho Town’s report.

The mother then went out to the family’s garden to harvest pepper.

As she expected K. would give her a helping hand, she went back to the house at around 9:00 am on the same day and found K. lying dead in the kitchen.

The woman called for help and took K. to a hospital for emergency treatment, but no miracle happened.

As functional forces examined the scene, they found a letter supposedly left by K.

“The pressure from the family makes me uncomfortable,” the letter reads.

It is known that K. lost his father at a young age and was living with his mother and elder sister.

K. is appreciated by teachers as a hard-working, obedient student with a high sense of self-study.
