Police in the northern Vietnamese province of Tuyen Quang took a man into custody on Wednesday afternoon after he attacked an official and policemen at the People’s Committee of Son Duong Town in the namesake district.

The Tuyen Quang Department of Public Security stated on Wednesday night that the unit was investigating 33-year-old Ta Quang Minh from Son Duong Town, for “intentionally causing injury to other people.”

Minh brought a knife to the office of the People’s Committee of Son Duong Town and slashed the arm of an official over “a personal dispute” at around 3:10 pm on the same day.

When police forces tried to control him, Minh used the knife to threaten the policemen in an attempt to escape by motorbike.

The police managed to rein him in after a few minutes and then took him into custody.
