A truck ran into a power pole on National Highway 20 in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam on the weekend, knocking over the pole and causing a power outage for thousands of households in the area.
The incident occurred in Tan Phu Town, Tan Phu District, according to Dong Nai Power Co. Ltd..
At 8:10 pm on Sunday, a truck mounted the sidewalk and hit a power pole while it was driving on National Highway 20 from Da Lat City in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong to Ho Chi Minh City.
The collision broke power pole No. 176 of the 476 Phu Dien and 478 Phu Loc transmission lines, knocking it over and leaving the electric wires on the ground.
As a result, thousands of households in Phu Xuan, Tra Co, and Phu Thanh Communes as well as Tan Phu Town suffered a power outage.
In addition, the front of the truck was seriously damaged. However, the driver was not injured.
Notified of the incident, workers at Dinh Quan Power, an arm of Dong Nai Power Co. Ltd., rushed to the scene to fix the problem.
