-- The state-owned Vietnam Expressway Corporation has proposed a VND7.25-trillion (US$288.5 million) investment to expand the 121km Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway to four lanes and VND2 trillion ($79.6 million) to widen the 50km Cau Gie-Ninh Binh Expressway to six lanes.
-- Two new sections of the Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway, passing through Binh Chanh District in Ho Chi Minh City and Nhon Trach District in Dong Nai Province, have been opened to traffic starting from Thursday noon.
-- Traffic police spent three hours redirecting vehicles to National Highway 1 on Friday morning to alleviate a long traffic jam on the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay-Phan Thiet Expressway as people began returning home for Tet.
-- Police in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang announced on Thursday that they have fined four restaurants a total of VND525 million ($20,891) for discharging untreated wastewater into the environment.
-- The Office of the People’s Committee of Nghe An Province announced on Thursday that the north-central province had issued nearly VND9 billion ($358,139) in administrative fines for traffic violations by students between December 21, 2023, and December 21, 2024.
