Whale spotted off Vietnam’s northern coast

Saturday, August 20, 2022, 14:00 GMT+7

A fisherman sighted a whale in the waters off Vinh Thuc Commune in the northern Vietnamese province of Quang Ninh on Friday.

It is the second sighting by local fishermen in recent years following an encounter in Cua Dai area, according to Nguyen Duy Dong, chairman of the communal People’s Committee.

Experts said its appearance shows the seas are clean and rich in food.

Earlier this month, two blue whales were seen foraging at De Gi Beach in south-central Binh Dinh Province.
