Police in Thai Nguyen Province, northern Vietnam are hunting for the suspect who robbed a local bank with a gun on Monday afternoon.

The provincial Department of Public Security confirmed on Monday evening it had initiated a manhunt for the suspect in a bank robbery in Song Cong City.

Preliminary information showed that the incident took place at a branch of VietinBank at around 2:00 pm the same day.

The suspect was a man wearing a black hoodie and face mask, according to CCTV footage.

There were only three attendants at the time.

One customer later walked into the venue.

The suspect threatened the customer and bankers with a gun before taking a large amount of money.

The suspect then left the bank on his motorbike.

The bankers immediately screamed for help as soon as the robber left, but the security guards were unable to chase after him.

The incident was then reported to local police.
