Frost covered many trees in a district in Nghe An Province, north-central Vietnam early on Sunday morning as temperature dropped to below zero degrees Celsius due to the effect of a cold front.
The temperature in Ky Son District, Nghe An dropped to below zero degrees Celsius between Saturday night and Sunday morning, causing frost to blanket trees and house roofs.
The lowest mercury in the locality was recorded at Buoc Mu Border Station, located about 1,900 meters above sea level.
“More blankets and heat preservation items have been provided to the soldiers on duty at the station,” according to Nguyen Van Hoa, a local border guard official.
