V.Q.H., 55, residing in the northern Vietnamese province of Tuyen Quang, has committed suicide by jumping off the second floor of his house after setting it on fire, killing his wife and three children.

The provincial police on Sunday issued the preliminary results of an investigation into the case, in which five people in a family died.

Police officers attributed the tragic case to a family conflict.

In particular, at about 3:30 pm on Sunday, residents in Tan Lap Village, Trung Hoa Commune, Chiem Hoa District, Tuyen Quang Province noticed a fire at H.’s house.

When the residents and police officers of Trung Hoa Commune reached the scene to extinguish the blaze, they found that H. died in the front yard.

Meanwhile, the bodies of his wife and three children, who were burnt to death, were found in a room on the first floor.

Further investigation is ongoing.
