A car was running on a street in Hanoi in northern Vietnam when it banged into tens of motorcycles, leaving 22 people injured on Wednesday afternoon.
An official from the Tay Ho District People’s Committee told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on the same day that the car crash happened on Vo Chi Cong Street and in front of Xuan La Middle School at 4:00 pm.
Seventeen motorcycles were damaged and tens of people sustained injuries in the traffic accident, according to Tuoi Tre reporters' observation.
The car crashed into multiple motorbikes at the intersection between Vo Chi Cong Street and Xuan La Street while it was heading from Nhat Tan Bridge to downtown Hanoi.
After being notified of the crash, police in Tay Ho District approached the scene to take victims to hospital and investigate the cause.
The accident also led to a traffic snarl-up on Vo Chi Cong Street.

The driver of the 'crazy' car was identified as Hoang Ngoc Vinh, a 63-year-old resident of Long Bien District in Hanoi.
He drove the vehicle to transport his wife to a hospital for a medical check-up, he said.
The accident occurred when he drove back home.
He tested zero for alcohol concentration and negative for illicit drugs.
Nguyen Dinh Khuyen, chairman of the Tay Ho District People's Committee, told Tuoi Tre on Thursday that the driver stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake, resulting in the accident.
Investigators of the Tay Ho District Police Department have launched criminal proceedings against the driver of the car and taken him into custody for his alleged traffic violations.
