Police officers arrested on Friday the suspect in a bank robbery that took place for just one minute in Da Nang, central Vietnam the day before.
Le Phu Cao, a 32-year-old man from neighboring Thua Thien-Hue Province, was arrested when hiding in the city’s Lien Chieu District.
He is accused of robbing more than VND600 million (US$25,540) from a VietinBank branch on Dong Da Street in Hai Chau District on Thursday.
In a black hoodie and blue jeans, Cao stopped his gray Yamaha Grande scooter, whose plate number is 43F1-478.53, in front of the bank at around 11:15 am, rushed inside and then closed the roller door behind him, the police announcement on Friday morning showed.
There were five employees and one security guard inside the state-run bank branch at the time.
With a seeming gun in one hand and an electric baton in the other, the robber threatened the security guard, then requested the employees to put money inside plastic bags.
The entire ordeal happened within around a minute before the robber fled the scene.
No one was harmed during the heist.
