Part of Hoang Van Thu Park in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City serves as a temporary road, which will be used while part of Phan Thuc Duyen Street is occupied to build a tunnel at the Phan Thuc Duyen-Tran Quoc Hoan Intersection.

Part of Hoang Van Thu Park in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City is being dismantled to make room for a temporary road, which will be used while a road near Tan Son Nhat International Airport is under construction.

In particular, some 1,600 square meters of land at the park will serve as the temporary road, according to the Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority of Ho Chi Minh City.

The temporary road will be used while a road linking Tran Quoc Hoan and Cong Hoa Streets in Tan Binh District is being built.

Two out of the three lanes of Phan Thuc Duyen Street will be occupied to build a tunnel, part of the road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan and Cong Hoa Streets.

As a result, the temporary road is needed to ensure the normal circulation on Phan Thuc Duyen Street.

The road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan and Cong Hoa Streets in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City, once in place, will connect to the T3 terminal of the Tan Son Nhat International Airport and create a new parallel road to ease traffic on Cong Hoa and Truong Chinh Streets.

Construction of the road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan and Cong Hoa Streets, which is some four kilometers long and requires an estimated investment of over VND4.8 trillion (US$205.3 million), kicked off in late 2022 and was expected to be completed in September 2024.

When in place, it is expected to ease congestion in the airport area.

The road will start at the Phan Thuc Duyen-Tran Quoc Hoan Intersection and end at the intersection of C12, Cong Hoa, and Truong Chinh Streets upon completion.

It will have six lanes and a designed speed of 50 kilometers per hour.

The road will include a 988-meter-long overpass, which will have four lanes with a width of 17 meters, in front of the T3 terminal, and two tunnels, which will be developed at the Phan Thuc Duyen-Tran Quoc Hoan and Truong Chinh-Tan Ky Tan Quy intersections.

After the project is completed, some 670 square meters of land will be returned to the park, while some 900 square meters will be used to build a sidewalk.

The construction site of the road is fenced in order not to affect activities at Hoang Van Thu Park in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City and traffic in the area.
