Beaches in the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang were teeming with visitors on Sunday afternoon, one day after the final round of the 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival.
Beaches stretching from Son Tra District to Ngu Hanh Son District were crowded, Nguyen Duc Vu, head of the management board of Son Tra Peninsula and tourism beaches in Da Nang, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper.
The number of visitors to beaches in the city on Sunday was even higher than that on peak days in 2018-19. The scene has been rare after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hotels and resorts in the city also reported record numbers of guests last weekend.
Local tourism enterprises and management agencies agreed that the high number of visitors during the weekend was thanks to the final round of the 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival on Saturday night.
This is a positive signal for the local tourism sector after the pandemic and Da Nang should organize more attractive events to lure tourists, according to tourism enterprises.
At a recent ceremony to introduce the 'Enjoy Da Nang Summer 2023' festival, a municipal leader said each night of the 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival attracted some 60,000 visitors. The figure was higher on the opening night and in the final round of the festival.
The 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, themed 'The World without Distance,' took place from June 2 to July 9, with the championship claimed by the French pyrotechnic team.
