Two local men were killed on the spot and a third died in a local hospital following an incident at a paving stone workshop on Monday morning in Nghe An Province, north-central Vietnam, a local official confirmed on the same day.

The fatal accident occurred at around 10:30 am at a paving stone workshop owned by N.V.Ph., 31, a native of Nghi Hoa Commune, Nghi Loc District, according to a leader of the Nghi Loc administration.

Several stone slabs fell on the three workers while they were attempting to carry them across the workshop.

The stone slabs immediately killed H.V.T., 31 and N.V.S., 29, both residents of Nghi Loc.

H.V.K., 45, a native of neighboring Thanh Hoa Province, was severely injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but he later sucummbed to his injuries. 

Police have launched an investigation to determine the root cause of the incident.
