Many world-renowned defense and aerospace companies, including Lockheed Martin, Airbus, Rostec, and Boeing have secured booths at the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024, scheduled for December 19 to 22 at Gia Lam Air Base in Hanoi, according to the latest exhibitor list released by the organizing committee.

In particular, more than 140 companies from 27 countries and territories have put their names down as exhibitors for the expo.

Thirteen of them originate from the U.S., including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Teledyne FLIR.

The event will also see 13 Russian units, including Rosoboronexport, part of the Rostec State Corporation; 13 units from Japan, 13 from Singapore, 10 from India, two from China, two from Israel, and Airbus from France.

The exhibitor list includes 77 units from Vietnam, consisting of Viettel, companies under the Vietnam Defence Industry, and firms under the Ministry of National Defense.

As many as 69 types of weaponry and military equipment will be showcased, with the majority researched and produced by the Southeast Asian country’s military since 2022.

According to the organizer, the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 will introduce the latest equipment and technologies, including air defense systems and equipment (fighter jets, helicopters, trainer aircraft, drones, air-to-air missiles, man-portable air-defense systems, and others), naval equipment (submarines, battleships, auxiliary ships, reconnaissance equipment, sonars, and torpedoes), and equipment of ground forces (weapons, field artillery, self-propelled artillery, multiple rocket launchers, anti-aircraft guns, surface-to-surface missiles, anti-tank missiles, tanks, armored vehicles, military vehicles, motorcycles, and engineering equipment). 

Security equipment will include border security systems; civil defense, customs and immigration, anti-terrorism and state security systems; and rescue equipment.

Communications equipment ranges from chemical weapon prevention and control equipment, weapons for special forces, surveillance radars, fire control systems, and aerial, ground, and underwater robots.

The organizer also announced that 56 international delegations from 36 countries have registered to attend the expo, specifically those led by ministers and heads of the national defense agencies from 10 ASEAN countries and eight ASEAN’s partners, namely Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, the U.S., and South Korea.

After the opening ceremony, the exhibition will open to the public from 1:30 pm on December 21 to December 22, and entry for all ages will be free.

This year, the organizer has not put an age restriction on visitors. To attend, visitors must bring identification cards. Advanced registration is not required.

Vietnam hosted the first Vietnam International Defense Expo in 2022, attracting 174 enterprises from 30 countries.
