-- China is willing to provide Vietnam with financial aid to prepare a feasibility study report for the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong railway project, heard a meeting between Vietnam's Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu and chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency Luo Zhaohui on Monday.

-- The Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore has said that it is teaming up with local authorities to clarify the motive of a knife attack that killed a Vietnamese woman in Hougang on Tuesday.

-- The Party, State, and people of Vietnam strongly support Laos's renovation efforts, Nguyen Duy Ngoc, secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and chief of its Office, told Lao leaders on Wednesday during his two-day visit to the country, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

-- Many localities in the central region were forecast to experience moderate to heavy rain on Thursday with average precipitation of 70-160 mm, even over 300mm in some areas, while scattered showers and thunderstorms might hit the southern region. The number of chartered flights from China to the province is increasing, according to Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Wei Huaxiang, who spoke at an event in Nha Trang City on Wednesday to connect local and Chinese companies.
