A man committed suicide after stabbing two people in District 3 in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday morning.

An official from the People’s Committee of Ward 3 in District 3 confirmed the incident to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on the same day.

The naked man suspected of being under the influence of drugs was wielding a knife and entered a coffee shop on Nguyen Thien Thuat Street in the district at 9:30 am to wound guests, according to police officers.

Coffee-goers quickly escaped the shop and his attacks.

The man chased the people to the intersection between Nguyen Dinh Chieu and Nguyen Thien Thuat Streets, and the surrounding area of Ban Co Market, where he stabbed a woman and a man.

The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

The woman, 70, was in a critical condition, according to Thanh Nien (Young People) newspaper.

After his stabbing, the attacker ran to Ban Co Street in Ward 3 and committed suicide. Police officers quickly arrived at the scene to investigate the case.
