Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City has made an impressive recovery in 2023, with the number of international visitors to the city expected to reach five million this year, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism.

The figure indicates a 44.3-percent increase over the same period in 2022, meeting 100 percent of the target for 2023.

Domestic visitors to Ho Chi Minh City are expected to exceed 35 million in 2023, a 12-percent rise over the same time frame in 2022, meeting 100 percent of the target for this year, as shown by data from the department.

Total tourism revenue is projected to hit VND160,000 billion (US$6.6 billion) in 2023, a 22-percent year-on-year jump, reaching 100 percent of the target for this year.

In order to attract more domestic and international tourists to discover the remarkable attractions of Ho Chi Minh City, the municipal Department of Tourism recently expanded the reach of its promotion for the Interactive Smart 3D/360 Map of Ho Chi Minh City (Map 3D/360) across multiple social media platforms, including fan page Vibrant Ho Chi Minh City, fan page Du lịch Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, and website visithcmc.vn.

By accessing social networking sites managed by the department and following the provided instructions, tourists can gain authentic 360-degree views of famous tourist destinations, including Ben Thanh Market, Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, Reunification Palace, Ho Chi Minh Museum, and more.

This innovation has allowed visitors to conveniently obtain information and increased their engagement with the city before their actual trip.

Before embarking on their trip, Map 3D/360 facilitates tourists in exploring Ho Chi Minh City, streamlining their investigative efforts and saving valuable time and energy.

Furthermore, it serves as a practical resource for individuals who are unable to make an actual trip to the city but still desire to acquire an in-depth understanding of it.

Through the increased utilization of social media platforms to promote Map 3D/360, the tourism department has established beneficial conditions for visitors to virtually explore and experience Ho Chi Minh City.

This enables them to avoid the need to invest time and effort in researching the city before their visit.

It not only contributes to the enhancement of the city's reputation but also generates enthusiasm and expectation among tourists ready to explore it.
