-- The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has approved a plan to pilot a city tour service using 200 electric sightseeing cars. The initiative, proposed by the city’s transport authority, is scheduled to commence this quarter and continue until the end of next year.
-- Ho Chi Minh City launched a center for digital transformation on Tuesday afternoon to support agencies, organizations, and enterprises in their transition to digitalization.
-- The upgrade and expansion project for Dong Van Cong Road in Thu Duc City under Ho Chi Minh City, spanning 2.8km, has been largely completed. It is slated to open to traffic in time for the 2024 Lunar New Year, which is 10 days away.
-- Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City is scheduled to officially implement the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) model to enhance on-time take-off and landing rates for flights starting Thursday.

-- KP Aero Industries Co. Ltd. from South Korea on Tuesday commenced the construction of its KP Vina Aircraft Component factory with a US$20 million investment at Da Nang Hi-Tech Park in Da Nang City. This facility will specialize in producing, processing, and assembling aircraft parts for Boeing 787 and Boeing 737 Max aircraft.
-- The total import-export turnover of foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises in Vietnam reached $20.49 billion in the first half of January, marking a 0.9-percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, while domestic enterprises recorded a turnover of $9.3 billion, reflecting a significant growth rate of 12.7 percent, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
-- Vietnam’s footwear exports generated over $20.2 billion in 2023, experiencing a decrease of 15.3 percent compared to 2022. The country holds the second position globally in footwear exports, accounting for an estimated 10 percent of the world’s export volume, trailing only behind China, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
-- Vietnamese retailer Saigon Co.op has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with South Korean conglomerate CJ Group to establish a shared ecosystem for logistics services and implement a warehouse system in line with automation standards.
-- Vietnamese property developer Novaland on Tuesday reported a consolidated revenue surpassing VND3.8 trillion ($155.6 million) for Q4-2023, constituting 43 percent of the total revenue for the entire year, and a profit after tax amounting to VND1.6 trillion ($65.5 million).
