Da Nang Hospital in the namesake city in central Vietnam inaugurated the Center for Neurosurgery, Trauma, and Plastic Burns, as well as the Center for Organ Transplantation and Stem Cell Transplantation on Tuesday after over four and a half years of construction.

The two major medical projects required an investment of nearly VND970 million (US$39.4 million) from Da Nang City's budget.

Initiated in 2019, the construction of these projects was supervised by the Da Nang Management Board for Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Investment Projects.

The Center for Neurosurgery, Trauma, and Plastic Burns, with an investment of nearly VND472 billion ($19.2 million), boasts around 407 beds, catering to cranial nerve diseases, spinal injuries, limb injuries, plastic burns, and rehabilitation.

It offers spacious and modern treatment and service areas.

Meanwhile, the Center for Organ Transplantation and Stem Cell Transplantation, funded with nearly VND496 billion ($20.2 million), features 422 beds aimed at enhancing the quality and early application of advanced techniques to organ and stem cell transplantation.

Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities meeting international standards, this center satisfies the growing healthcare needs of the local population.

After over 4.5 years of construction, the operation of the two medical centers is anticipated to elevate Da Nang Hospital’s status as a specialized medical facility in the city as well as the central and Central Highlands regions.

They will provide convenient access to high-tech medical services for residents, reducing the need for distant treatment.
