At the ceremony, Loc, deputy secretary of the municipal Party Committee and chairman of the city’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, delivered his speech commemorating the contributions of the Hung Kings.
He emphasized the deep cultural symbolism and the historical importance of the Hung Kings in the fight for national independence and unity.

“That tradition has been preserved, passed down, and rekindled with unyielding determination,” he stressed.
“In the new era, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to uphold the tradition of being a heroic city.
“We will strive to become a modern service and industrial city, a leading economic hub Southeast Asia by 2030, and by 2045, to be on par with major global cities, becoming a center of economy, finance, and services in Asia, with a high quality of life for the people,” Loc said.
In line with this vision, the city has prioritized science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as the ‘only path to national development’ as per the directive from Party General Secretary To Lam.
He concluded by emphasizing the responsibility of the city’s Party members to carry forward the legacy of the Hung Kings and honor the nation’s revolutionary tradition.
“By learning from our ancestors and the Hung Kings, we will continue to fulfill our responsibilities in the process of national development,” he said.
Following the opening ceremony, the city leaders and the residents participated in a procession to celebrate the occasion.
