-- The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security attaches great importance to cooperation and exchange activities with research institutes and centers of Harvard University, Minister To Lam said during a reception for Professor Thomas J. Vallely, senior advisor for mainland Southeast Asia at Harvard Kennedy School, in Hanoi on Monday.

-- Vietnamese army engineers have repaired a road in the center of Africa's Abyei despite temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius and sandstorms to facilitate locals’ travel as the rainy season is coming.

-- The administration in Son Tra District, Da Nang City, central Vietnam will cease the operation of a night market near the iconic Dragon Bridge in July this year. The district is seeking another location for the night market, said a local official.

-- Vietnam’s Acting State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan received delegates from the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs’ Association in Hanoi on Monday in celebration of the 93rd establishment anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024).

-- South Korea will always pay attention to and provide continuous support for the healthcare sector of Vietnam, Speaker of the South Korean National Assembly (NA) Kim Jin Pyo pledged in a video sent to the Hue Central Hospital in Thua Thien-Hue Province, central Vietnam on the occasion of a South Korean NA visit to the hospital on Monday. 

-- Many Russian and Vietnamese people in Da Nang on Monday laid bouquets of flowers outside the Russian Consulate General in the city to commemorate victims of a terrorist attack on a concert hall in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow on Friday last week (local time). Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and many high-ranking Vietnamese officials wrote in the condolence book for the victims at the Russian Embassy in Hanoi, while Ho Chi Minh City officials did the job at the Russian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City on the same day. The attack left at least 137 people dead and 182 injured.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange on Monday announced the temporary suspension of connection with local stock brokerage VNDirect as the company said it had been under cyberattack since Sunday.

-- Binh Dinh Province in south-central Vietnam will hold an investment promotion conference on Friday this week, with the participation of some 1,000 delegates, including leading billionaires.

World News

-- “U.S. and British officials on Monday filed charges, imposed sanctions, and accused Beijing of a sweeping cyberespionage campaign that allegedly hit millions of people including lawmakers, academics and journalists, and companies including defense contractors,” according to Reuters.

-- The United Nations Security Council adopted a resolution on Monday demanding an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas after the United States abstained from the vote, sparking a spat with its ally Israel, Reuters reported.
