Thousands of workers had to wade through roads submerged under water inside an industrial park in Ben Tre Province, southern Vietnam on Tuesday following a heavy rain while a power outage hindered the operation of the industrial park’s water pump.
Until noon on Tuesday, roads in the 116-hectare Giao Long Industrial Park, the largest one in Ben Tre, remain inundated, posing immense challenges for workers.
Nguyen Thi Luong, a worker of the Giao Long Industrial Park, said the industrial park is often flooded but this was the most severe.
She sometimes fell on the flooded roads and had to return home, Luong shared.

The flooding was caused by the heavy rain combined with the inactive pump due to the power blackout, according to Le Van Nhien, head of the Management Board of Industrial Zones in Ben Tre Province.
Water was pumped out the same day.
